Aaron Waite - Indian Walk-In Center

Indian Walk In CenterIndian Walk-In Center (IWIC) has been the hub for community connection for American Indians since 1974.  As of 1992, IWIC began providing adult outpatient treatment services, mental health therapy, primary health and dental care, emergency food assistance, prevention/education programs focusing on youth and diabetes prevention education.

Within the past few years, IWIC has been working towards providing a holistic/comprehensive health care delivery system.  Currently, IWIC collaborates and contracts with three local community health centers to address episodic care.  While this partnership is vital, it lacks continuous long term care particularly with diabetic clients.  American Indians are highly susceptible to being diagnosed with diabetes.  It has been a dream of IWIC to build its own diabetes clinic.  This dream is becoming a reality; although IWIC will not be constructing a building, we are negotiating to lease medical office space.

For the past several months, Aaron Waite has been involved in this exciting venture.  He has dedicated many hours developing and securing a lease agreement that woudl best benefit and protect the Indian Walk-In Center.  The Board of Directors and staff of IWIC appreciate his commitment to The People.
