Edit Tab
The Edit tab takes you into an edit screen where you can modify content. There are different types of content on the site (e.g. a simple web page, a Client Library Document, etc.). Each type of content will have a different Edit screen, however the underlying behavior is common.
Generally speaking, you will have the ability in the Edit screen to modify text content, create links, add images, and use form fields and drop-down selection boxes to manage other information (called metadata) associated with web content.
In the example below, we see the Edit tab for a Questions and Answers page. You'll notice the manager here has the ability to change the Title of the page and to author the page content using an in-browser visual editor.
The toolbar of the "visual editor" allows you to enter and format page content using control buttons common to many word processors.
Note: There are several visual editors available for use with the system. They are highly browser-dependent and are customizable on a user-by-user basis (in the Profile), so what you see may vary slightly from what you see in the Help section screenshots.
All of the visual editors have some way to toggle from WYSIWYG mode (where you can use toolbar icons to format bold text, list items, etc.) and HTML mode (for advanced users) where you can control the actual codes that format text and images.
