Retreat, Board Meeting, New Intake Worker

Thanks to staff for a great retreat, notes on the January 2011 board meeting & announcements of new employees.

Thanks to everyone for your participation in making our 2011 staff retreat a great success.  The ideas from your workgroups are coming in and we'll get organized on next steps and forward progress as everything arrives.  It was great to be able to spend some time together in person.

At the retreat we marked some milestones:  More than 25 years at ULS by Mary Nielsen-Lyman, Linda Holley, Sylvia Bosen.

And hitting the 10 year mark:  Tanta Lisa Clayton, Beatriz Laguna, Amber McFee, Meranda Sanchez and Cherie Stanworth.

Congrats to all and thanks for all of your time with us.

Our Board also met at the end of January.  They were introduced to Sheldon Spotted Elk and his work in the Native American unit, and they heard reports from Anne and on the LSC technology grants we are working on.  They reviewed the financials and signed off on the Utah non-profits ethical standards.   They also reviewed the agenda for the retreat, and received an overview of the Access to Justice effort.

Finally,  we are pleased that Julio Nino accepted our offer of employment and began work immediately, on February 18th.  Julio is bilingual in Spanish and is being trained on the intake lines now.  Please welcome him to ULS.

Thanks all
