In Case You Missed It - First Tuesday Update.
Just a couple of notes from First Tuesday, in case you missed it.
First, PAI time: Please be sure to count any Private Attorney Involvement time you earn by clicking the "This is PAI time" box in a client's case, or by checking the box on your time slips, or by using the project "PAI-GEN". Not sure what counts? Please talk to your Manager or Task Force Chair.
We are behind on PAI spending, but looking to catch up with a series of trainings to recruit volunteers through the Spring, and bunches of other activities. All the time you spend on those trainings, which are designed to bring more volunteers into the fold, is PAI time.
Second, staff compensation: As we are all focused right now on PAI and other task force goals in addition to the usual work, we've decided to give ourselves more time to put together a meaningful annual evaluation review this year. Also, as with last year the continuing economic outlook in the State isn't great (and so starting salaries may not rise much, or at all), and health insurance costs look to jump again on January 1st of 2011. The end result is we've decided to push the annual merit compensation back to September 5, 2010, and the annual longevity increase back to January 1, 2011. This gives us more time to watch our own budget, more time to talk about performance and evaluation and how we want to work through that process this year, and moving the longevity raise to January helps offset the likely health insurance increases.
Finally, remember, It Isn't Justice, If It Isn't Equal. Keep up the good work.
If you have any questions or concerns about any of this, please talk to your supervisor or Eric.
