Good Works at ULS
Thankful Clients Coming Through Our Courthouse Offices
From a client of the Provo Courthouse Office who worked with Caitlin, as well as with Amber, Michelle and Patti:
I wanted to write and thank you for all the time you have put in to help me over the last few months. It has been the hardest times I've ever gone through and i don't know what I would have done if it weren't for the help I received from you and from Utah Legal Services. You gave me excellent advice and support. It is such a relief to finally be free of the abuse, lies and constant fear and stress we lived in. I know there are much more glamorous and financially rewarding places for lawyers and paralegals to work than Utah Legal Services. I am so glad that there are some caring people who are willing to use their expertise to help those who have no resources to help themselves. I will forever be grateful to all of you.
-such a great letter, except for the part about ULS not being glamorous, not sure where she got that idea
And with the funding running out, the Ogden Courthouse Office receives praise and thanks from the Court:
We were informed today that the funding supporting the Utah Legal Services Domestic Violence Advocate Program has been exhausted as of this week. The public and the courts have benefitted greatly from Utah Legal Services' partnership in this program, which has been in place since 2006. We appreciate their hard work.
Debbie Moss will continue with Utah Legal Services in their new office in the Old Post Office, but she will be here on Monday and Wednesday mornings to assist in court with the protective order calendars.
Again, we express our appreciation to Debbie and Utah Legal Services for their assistance all these years.
And
On behalf of the judges of the Ogden Department of the Second District Court, thank you very much for your fine service these past three years to the Court and to the public regarding these very difficult cases. Though your services will be curtailed in the future, we appreciate your willingness to continue to give some help.
Michael D. Lyon
Presiding Judge, Second District Court
Thanks to everyone for all of your hard work.
