eLearning Modules

Just a reminder that we have some valuable e-learning modules available.  I have added links to the trainings put together in cooperation with Montana and Colorado Legal Services.  These follow:

• How to Collect Attorneys Fees - Did you know we can again ask for attorney's fees? Here are some things to consider.
• LSC/ULS Policies and Regulations - Review the regulations and policies that guide our work.
• Tools for Metadata Removal - Learn what metadata is and why it needs to be removed. Then find out how to remove it!
• Working with Difficult Clients - We all have them. Here are some tips on how to do it better.

And don't forget about the ones we did on our own, thanks to a Recovery grant.  They are:

• Civil Protective Orders - Learn how to work with victims of domestic violence, understand the process for adult and child protective orders, and answer frequently asked questions by clients.
• Cultural Competency (Part I - Introduction) - What is Cultural Competency? What is your goal? What will you learn in the subsequent Cultural Competency trainings?
• Cultural Competency (Part II - Working with People with DisAbilities) - Learn how to help clients cope with new disabilities. Become aware of the occurrences of domestic violence in their lives. Watch basic disability etiquette examples to learn how to more respectfully interact with clients who have a disability.
• Cultural Competency (Part III - Working with Vulnerable Adults) - Go on a road trip to become more culturally competent in working with Vulnerable Adults. Learn terms, statistics, resources, and much more as you travel through many obstacles.
• Cultural Competency (Part IV - Working with Native Americans) - An introduction to Native American communities. Increase your respect and knowledge for victims of violence who are Native American, so that you can more effectively and respectfully serve Native American clients.
• Cultural Competency (Part V - Conclusion) - Access this training once you have completed ALL of the cultural competency trainings available on this page.

All these trainings are located on the advocate side of our website in the practice areas under "eLearning Modules".  You can actually click on the links above as well, though some of them require you to be logged in. 

Also, remember that under our LEP policy, ALL employees are required to complete the 5-part Cultural Competency training, but the others can also be helpful and informative so be sure and check them out!  If you have any questions, let me know.
